Friends Of The Southwick Rail Trail
welcome you to the beautiful, 6-plus miles of
multi-use rail trail that passes through
Southwick, Massachusetts.
Whether you cycle, jog, roller blade or just stroll along, we
hope you will enjoy the open vistas of
wetlands, agricultural fields, golf courses,
and waterways.
The trail, which has been immensely
popular since its opening in 2011, is
administered and maintained by the
Southwick Park and Recreation Commission
with the help of several local volunteer
organizations. The Friends group was formed
in 2011, when several local citizens banded
together and offered their services to the
Commission. Since that time the group has
secured State recognition as a tax exempt
organization as well as federal non-profit 501 (c)(3) status.
Others from the local community and out-of-state
have joined the Friends group, which
sponsors an annual July Fun Ride for kids, organizes a
Spring Cleanup event, and performs
various maintenance duties on the trail
throughout the year.
You are invited to become a member of
the Friends group as a means of expressing
your enjoyment and appreciation of the
Southwick trail.
Your support is needed to develop and
utilize this wonderful asset to its fullest
extent.
